A Little Book/From Shirt 2...

evolved one summer night in 2008 for owner/founder, Janet Spiech.  While enjoying dinner with friends, a discussion arose on how to handle the chaos during the family dinner-hour.  The friends looked to Janet for guidance, but realizing that each family is different and each is unique, Janet knew what works for her family may not work for theirs.  Her friends' dilemma stuck with Janet in the days following and she began to wonder how families across the nation do create a successful mealtime.  She decided to find out and devised a grassroots campaign that extended from Boston to California.  The result, A Little Book.

Since the introduction of Janet's first book, A Little Book to Ease Meal-Time Madness, she has grown the company to include a host of paper products (from notepads, to organizers) all designed to make the everyday a little bit easier.  In 2013, Janet released her second book, A Little Book of Household Tips & Tidbits, filled with great remedies for the household--like removing the permanent marker masterpiece your two year old created on the living room wall ...yikes!  Additionally, she has spoken to numerous moms', women's and church groups on the central themes of her books:  easing everyday chaos and the importance of the family mealtime.

And in 2014, A Little Book branched out introducing From Shirt 2, the company's textile division.  From Shirt 2 rescues gently used shirts and repurposes them into beautiful aprons, (for adults and children), and dribble bibs for babies.  The company continually introduces really fun products made from resuced shirts and shirt scraps, so stay tuned!

You can always find A Little Book/From Shirt 2 testing new and unique products at various art shows and markets throughout the Chicago area.
